Off the Script Community Book Club
The Parent Association welcomes all adult members of the WSSL community to the next meeting of the Off the Script Community Book Club.
Parents, teachers, staff, family, friends, and neighbors -- all are welcome!
Free aftercare will be available for currently enrolled WSSL families, and light refreshments will be provided. Please contact Jess Touchette with questions or suggestions.
Our first meeting of the school year will be on Thursday, October 29 at 3:15 - 4:45 p.m. in the Buttercup Room of Elm House.
We will be discussing Amazing Generation, co-written by Jonathan Haidt and Catherine Price and illustrated by Cynthia Yuan Cheng. This engaging and accessible middle-grade graphic novel builds on the ideas of Haidt’s Anxious Generation. Through a combination of graphic storytelling, scientifically grounded narrative nonfiction, and first-person accounts of teen and 20-something tech users, Amazing Generation breaks down the effects of technology use on developing minds and empowers young people to take back control of their lives and their time from tech companies.
All are welcome to join the conversation! Whether you've read the book from cover to cover or haven't had the chance to pick it up yet, we invite you to come, listen, share your thoughts, and enjoy a meaningful discussion with our school community.
Be sure to visit The Wishing Well, our school's online bookstore! Every purchase supports our school, with proceeds going directly back to WSSL.
Have a favorite book you'd love to see added to our collection? We'd love to hear your suggestions! Contact our Community Cultivators team at communitycultivators@waldorfstl.org to share your recommendations.
